Mosaic Madness: Part 1

Last week we joined the Mosaic trend in class as we made three cards using the Mosaic line of products. They featured the Mosaic Madness stamp set, the matching Mosaic punch, and the Modern Mosaic texture folder.

This was my favorite of the three cards. I absolutely love the flower made from the punched images. Isn't it just a fun use of the set?  Here's my tip for making the flower. Start with the small flower in the middle (or a button would work too) and add three images evenly spaced around it- working from the backside. Then start a second row of petals to fill in empty space. Finally, use the placement of the leaves to 'even out' the look if you have gaps left still.

After the flower is all glued together, then scrunch up the leaves until you get the dimension you desire and mount it to the card with a pop dot (aka dimensional, but pop dot is so much more fun to say :) ).

My final tip for this card is just to notice that I didn't emboss the entire white layer, but instead left a small strip sticking outside of the folder. This left room for the stamped 'ribbon' and the sentiment. Perfect!

Flutterby again soon to see the other two class cards :)

April Paper Pumpkin (Part 2)

As I showed you last time, the April Paper Pumpkin kit (which I borrowed from my Mom when I was in need of some "Mommy Time" at the lake) made this adorable picture frame (complete with a wrapping sleeve).

But once I finished it I still had TONS of leftovers. There was still another heart and flag die-cut, as well as another button and tons of the twine left; not to mention 11 more tags! So I grabbed some white cardstock and got my creative juices flowing.

First, I created a card to match the frame. I loved making the 'For You' sentiment on the bottom have depth by stamping it twice and then cutting out the flag to mount on dimentionals.

But I couldn't stop there. The heart die-cut still had both the inside heart and the outside frame just begging to be created with. First I used the 'frame' to make a negative space card. Same basic layout, with just a touch of twine tied around the side to make it cutsie :)

And then I altered the layout slightly once again for the inside heart. This time I layered one of the smaller hearts and some twine ontop of it. I love how that turned out.

And here is the sweet little heart just a little bit closer:

That makes 1 frame and 5 cards with this kit already (only extra needed was white cardstock) and I still haven't even used the remaining 11 tags. I left those for my mom to play with, it being her kit and all ;) Although... if she doesn't use it I 'may' just have to make an adorable little banner with it.

Did you know that right now this kit is even available to order? So if you missed it you can still get it too! Yay! But you do have to be a Paper Pumpkin subscriber- so sign up today (remember the first two kits are even half off) and let me know you want this past kit ordered as well. I'll get you hooked up :)

April Paper Pumpkin

This past weekend we were up at the family lake cabin, and after watching my kiddos play (aka making sure they don't kill themselves somehow... yes I am the referee between my son and death) I decided I needed a 'Mommy break' for awhile.

Thankfully my mom had with some of the paper pumpkin boxes she hadn't created yet, and so I happily dove into one. And it was adorable (can't believe I missed out on this one!).

The kit is aimed towards a Mother's Day gift- a piece of framed 3-D art with wrapping even included. Isn't it an adorable present?

And then here is what it looks like completed per the directions:

But even once you finish that they've included lots of extras. There is enough to make 2 copies of the art inside the frame (only one frame though) and 12 tags. If you flutterby again later you will see what other beauties I created next with just a little extra white cardstock :)

Don't Miss Out Anymore!

Have you been a Paper Pumpkin holdout? I was until recently- I just didn't think the kits had enough 'stuff' in them to make it worth the price with shipping. I figured I could make it cheaper by purchasing the parts myself...

Fast forward to now. Stampin' Up! has heard our pleas and upped the value of the kits. Just check out the kit from July and you'll see what I mean!

There is enough here for 6 cards, 6 boxes, and 12 tags (with lots of extras left over). Not to mention a 10 piece stamp set and an ink spot; AND it is SUPER CUTE! I'm thinking of stealing it from my mom before she has a chance to put it together :) If I do I'll be sure to show you how it all turns out.

I've also seen sneak peeks of the September kit popping up around the web, and let me tell you- Oh My Gosh it is SO CUTE! The stamps are adorable for Halloween and there are LOTS of them again. Which brings me full circle. I'm now convinced... in fact I signed up for Paper Pumpkin today. I'm thinking my little girly is in for some craft time with Mom each month :)

Know what is even better? If you sign up before September 10th you will get 50% off your first two months. So even with shipping it is LESS than $10 while you give it a try. That is a great value- so try it now. You don't want to miss out on this any longer :)

Just click here and a monthly crafting escape is yours:

Flutterby soon to see some of the projects I made on vacation last week.
