One 'Half' Sheet Wonder: Day 8

It's the last day- have you had a fun week? I hope you've enjoyed seeing all these great cards. They make for an awesome gift too- just add envelopes and group them together with a ribbon or belly band. People are always in need of cards, so you know your gift won't go to waste :)

Today I'm going to do things a little differently. First you get to see the card, and then we will talk about all the gritty details of cutting your sheet of DSP up. Ready? Let's Go!

And now for the 'finale'. Here is your template! (Click on it to enlarge)

If you are a visual person, feel free to grab the picture and start cutting. But if you like step by step instructions, read on :)

1) Start with a 12" x 6" piece of DSP and cut it in half so you have two 6" x 6" squares
2) Stack the squares together and cut off a 1/2", then cut each of the 1/2" pieces so it is only 5 1/2" long (throw the remaining scraps)
3) Turn your two stacked sheets so your cuts will be the 5 1/2" direction, and then cut off a 1 3/4" strip (so the piece cut off should be 1 3/4" x 5 1/2" inches).
4) Take one of the strips from step 3 and cut it into 1 3/4" squares- you will get three (with a little scrap to throw left)
5) Take one of the big pieces (no longer stacked) and turn it the 4 1/4" direction, then cut off 2 1/2". This should create a 4 1/4" x 2 1/2" piece and a 4 1/4" x 3" piece. Cut the later in half diagonally.
6) With the remaining large piece cut off a 1/2" strip the long way (so it will be 1/2" x 5 1/2").
7) Turn and cut the large piece into two 2" pieces and one 1 1/2" piece (all three should be 3 3/4" long)
8) Take one of the 3 3/4" x 2" pieces and cut it into three 1 1/4" x 2" rectangles

You're DONE!!

Now sort out your pieces (it may help to lay them out like the diagram) and have fun putting your One 'Half' Sheet Wonder together :)
