Cross Card

I got this little gem from my mom when she had leftovers after a swap. Isn't it cool!

Its hard to see in this picture, but the cross is actually a hole punched out of the DSP so you can see the cardstock behind. Pretty nifty, right?! In order to create this you need the scallop trim border punch and the scallop trim corner punch. Then, what you do is fold the DSP in half and punch them along the crease (the corner makes the top and arms and the border makes the bottom). So fun!

The full recipe for this card is:
Floral District DSP
Rich Razzleberry and Baja Breeze Cardstock
Scallop Trim Border Punch
Scallop Trim Corner Punch
Pearl Accents

Play Time, What Fun!

Still loving these fall colors!

I had so much fun creating this layout. I got the basic idea from something I had seen in a CK magazine, and then updated it to fit with my album. The papers and stamps on this page are pretty much all from Autumn Traditions, with my PSE editing to change the colors again. Can you believe that before I changed the background paper to old olive that it was actually ruby red?? Crazy huh!

I've gotten a couple of "real" card made recently (thanks Mom!) so stop back soon to see some non-digi crafts. Have a great day!

Gotta Love Fall Colors

... even in the middle of summer.

I really liked the paper in the Autumn Traditions kit, but I wanted the colors of it to match those of Autumn Spice kit so I could use them together and have the book be all matchy-matchy.

So, I used PSE to recolor some of the papers. The Ruby Red went to Cajun Craze, the Soft Suede to Early Espresso, etc. Let me warn you- it is not an easy task to do (or at least not how I do it, but then I'm not all that talented with PSE). But I love the end result. I think this color combo on the paper is even prettier than the original :)

The rest of the layout is pretty self explanatory. I hope you enjoy!

Branson Trip Photobook

I'm busy making a photobook for the vacation we went on LAST fall. I know... I'm quite behind. But that's what Actuarial tests will do to a person. Cross your fingers for me and hope that I'm finally done with all that studying. I find out on Friday the 13th of July. What luck!

Anywho, I started this album awhile ago but I just wasn't happy with the theme I had chosen for it (items from the Sell-a-bration CD). Then I thought- hey, it's a fall album and I've got a lot of cute fall papers I should do that instead. Now I'm much happier with how it's turning out!

Here's the front cover:

It uses items from the Autumn Spice digital kit. Colors: Cajan Craze, More Mustard, Old Olive, and Early Espresso. It puts me in the mood for fall just looking at it :) I used letter punches for the word Branson- what fun. And if you recognize the layout it is because I started with the Twitterpated template and altered it to fit my needs! Gotta love templates.

For the back cover I changed things up just a little bit, but I wanted it to mesh with the front so I made sure to keep some similar elements.

I'm hoping that when this is printed the flower will look like a nice 3D element without the snag factor :)

Have a great week and stop by later to see more pages from the album as I complete it.
